abstract = {Today, after nearly two hundred years of historical research, no doubt exists as to the Islamic origin of mysticism and Sufism. However, there is a need for in-depth research in order to prove Shiite origin, that mysticism has an aim which cannot be achieved without clearer historical and essential evidence. A through and comprehensive review of the essential and historical relationships between Shi'ism and Sufism can elucidate the different dimensions of these relationships. 
Using a simple language and offering clear arguments, 'Allamah Tabatabaii elaborates on the spiritual and mystical aspects of Shiʻism and historical relationship between Shi'ism and Sufism. The inner meaning of Imamate, teaching the inner secrets and sciences within Shiite environment, resistance of Shiah and Holy Prophet's household (peace be upon them) against opposing majority in order to preserve the edifice of Islam, and prevent society's spiritual decadence which contributes to renouncing the Holy Prophet's teachings, besides the deep effect of the teachings of the Holy Prophet's household (may the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him and his progeny) and their followers on Sufism, and the decadence of Sufism and some Shiite mystics are among the main issues addressed by 'Allamah Tabatabaii to clarify the relationship between Shi'ism and Sufism.

abstract_fa ={امروزه پس از گذشت نزدیک به دو قرن از پژوهش های تاریخی، دیگر تردیدی دربارة خاستگاه اسلامی عرفان و تصوف نیست؛ اما اثبات خاستگاه شیعی عرفان نیازمند ژرف کاوی بیشتری است که این هدف دستیابی به شواهد تاریخی و ماهویِ روشن تری می طلبد. بررسی دقیق و همه جانبة پیوندهای ماهوی و تاریخی تشیع و تصوف می تواند ابعاد گوناگون این ارتباط را آشکارتر سازد.    
	علّامه طباطبائى با زبانی ساده و با استدلال های بسیار روشن، جنبة معنوی و عرفانی شیعه و وجوهی از ارتباط تاریخی تشیع و تصوف را بیان می کند. مفهوم و معنای باطنی امامت، تعلیم اسرار و معارف باطنی در محیط شیعه، مقاومت اهل بیت(ع) و شیعیان در برابر اکثریت به منظور حفظ معنویت اسلام، جلوگیری از سقوط معنوی جامعه در پی به وجود آمدن انحراف از تعالیم پیامبر اکرم(ص)، تأثیر عمیق تصوف از تعالیم اهل بیت(ع) و پیروانشان ایشان، انحطاط تصوف و سرایت این انحطاط به برخی عرفای شیعه، از مباحث مهمی است که علّامه طباطبائی در تبیین ارتباط تشیع و تصوف بدانها پرداخته است.},
