One of the controversial areas among Islamic sects is the place and value of free will and will in human actions. Some sects, due to the problems encountered in theological discussions, believe in predestination, and some believe in delegation, but Shiites, following the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), believe in the command between the two (not complete free will and complete predestination). These issues can also be raised in Islamic spirituality. This research seeks to explain the role and place of human free will in the process of spiritual realization and development from the perspective of Allama Misbah Yazdi (may Allah have mercy on him) using a descriptive-analytical method. Considering what is obtained from the scientific works left by Allama Misbah Yazdi (may Allah have mercy on him), it is clear that he considers human free will to be valid in Islamic spirituality. Not using the spiritual breaths that God Almighty creates for his servants, if not used, not only has no effect but is also considered blasphemy against divine blessings.
